In 2003, Maxel established its reel factory in Dongguan, China—a global leader in advanced manufacturing—marking the beginning of its journey in high-performance fishing reels. In 2013, as Maxel celebrated its 10th anniversary in reel manufacturing, the company unveiled the revolutionary Transformer series of jigging reels. 2014

Maxel's Hybrid Series & Jigging Lure Innovation

In 2014, Maxel introduced the Hybrid series—a new concept star drag jigging reel that redefined performance standards. The 2015 Hybrid version expanded the lineup with more sizes designed for North American fishing conditions.

Parallel to the reel advancements, Maxel expanded into jig lure design with its classic Dragonfly series .Up to now ,Maxel offers a wide range of jigs that are tailor made for both slow pitch and speed jigging .

2016

Maxel's 2016 Innovations: Rage Series & Oceanic Series

Maxel adds extra refinement with new concept jigging reels , the all-new Rage series . These models have been tuned to perfection to deliver a more compact appearance, lighter weight and smoother gearing and drag.

Also in 2016 ,the lightweight ,state-of-art Oceanic series 2 speed trolling reels released to meet the demands of light tackle tournament anglers.

2017

Maxel's 2017 Innovations: RiskyPlayer Series & Carbon Fiber Rod Technology

In 2017, Maxel expanded its dominance in the slow jigging sector with the launch of the RiskyPlayer series—a revolutionary line of carbon fiber rods designed to address key limitations in traditional jigging rods.

Maxel simultaneously brings to the market more models of jigging ,popping and trolling rods .

2021

Synchronized System Advancements

In 2021, Maxel introduced the Armory 15—a compact synchronized level-wind lever-drag jigging reel—marking a significant leap in reel engineering. Designed for slow and ultra-light jigging, this model addressed critical de-mands for line guide durability and drag performance under heavy loads.

The reel’s success led to the 2022 expansion with the Armory 25 and 35… and paved the way for the future development of larger sizes of round profile level wind reels

Q: Where can I order spare parts for Maxel reels  ? + -

A: Spare parts are available for all Maxel reel models . Please contact your nearest service center or Maxel dealers to place your parts order . Otherwise contact our factory directly by email at : sales@maxelfishing.com  We recommend using Maxel Reel Schematics as a guide on the exact parts name and parts numbers when ordering .

Q: How can I get a product schematics for my reel ?  + -

A: Maxel offers a detailed list of each product schematics, which lists part numbers and descriptions so customers can have the information at their fingertips.  Reel Schematics can be found under the product specification sheet which is showed in PDF format on our official website.

Q: How often should my reel be serviced ? + -

A: Recommend that your Maxel reel be properly cleaned and lubricated at least once a season by our authorized service center in your area .

Q: Do I need to wash and maintain my reel after using it? + -

A: Absolutely yes . We recommend washing your reels after every fishing day . Simple maintenance will prolong the life of your reel and ensure that it continues to function with optimum performance.

Q: How do I wash my reel? + -

A:  Firstly , tighten the drag of your reel ; Rinse your reel with cold fresh water to remove any accumulated salt deposits ; Then shake off the excess water, dry it with a soft clean cloth or air dry out of the sun ; Loosen the drag and store it in a ventilated dry place . Best to use the soft neoprene bag provided with you Maxel reel for storage.

Q: How can i get custom color reel? + -

A:  We have a wide options on custom colors,  but only available by pre-order with limited production . Please contact your local Maxel dealer to discuss and order your favorite custom reel.

Q: What are main difference between Hybrid star drag reel size 20 US version  and Asian version  ?  + -

A:  The Hybrid 20 are available in two versions ,one is Asian version HY20C (L), one is US version HY20(L) . The US version has a gear ratio of 5:1 as opposed to the 6:1 of the Asian model and it will not have magnetic cast control .There are also different designs on the thumb bar release ,star drag knob ,tension knob and handle knob .The Asian reel alone features a perforated side plate .

The main difference between Rage Pro and regular models is that Rage Pro featuring our latest drag system  ,the MAXEL PATENTED KARMAN SYSTEM . The Karman System enables the spool shaft to connect more effectively with the drag lever. When the drag lever is in the Free position, the drag plate disengages with the spool smoothly even after a lengthy fight. This means the reel goes to zero drag without any drag force , it’s a breakthrough in case it comes to issues surrounding spool lock when a jig/lure gets snagged between rocks. Rage Pro models feature the unique One-Piece Drag Lever re-designed with  Advanced Preset Controller , an anti-backlash system with clicking sound . You can tell the difference by reel looking as the side plate design on Rage Pro is different  ,also all Rage Pro models use longer type drag levers which is more convenient for single hand fast control on the drag lever adjustment  ,the drag tension knob also looks different .
